- Work only with construction companies that comply with sustainable energy standards including BS EN 15643
- Work with innovators in the field of sustainable energy to create a District Heating Network powered by ground-source heat pumps and complemented by Solar Photovoltaic (PV) panels to power DestinationBootle homes
- Establish a local energy company (Ensco) to manage the use and distribution of energy at DestinationBootle developments
- Share any savings made through the energy service with tenants
- Provide an electric carpool to reduce resident and worker car ownership, including electric vehicle charging points located throughout the site powered by the District Heating Network
- Encourage cycling by providing grants for bicycles to each household
- Encourage the use of public transport by providing travel plans
